Students will have the opportunity to learn the techniques of advanced reproductive technologies including ovum pick up/IVF, convention embryo flushing, embryo transfer and cloning as well as associated physiology, synchronization, superovulation/stimulation, and embryo evaluation and cryopreservation techniques. Hands on opportunities are available through employee training program, TOGU, based on department availability and student interest. Ohio Department of Agriculture, OH Description of Elective Experience: Student will spend time with the Ohio Department of Agriculture, Division of Animal Health. This opportunity will allow student to explore and experience regulatory medicine. They will spend time in the field with our field Veterinary Medical Officers and Animal Health Inspectors, as well as time with our Emergency Coordinator, and Assistant State Veterinarian. They will gain exposure to the many programs that are within our division including Emergency Response, Foreign Animal Disease investigations, commercial dog breeding, dealers and markets, animal disease traceability, industry relations, our captive deer program, and livestock exhibitions.
