Old Dominion Equine Associates, VA Description of Elective Experience: During their time at Old Dominion Equine Associates, students will experience a large spectrum of sports medicine and general practice. This will include extensive lameness evaluations and treatments, preventative medicine, reproductive services, and alternative medicine to include acupuncture and chiropractic services. All of our veterinarians carry digital radiographs and digital ultrasounds with them, and we have an inhouse laboratory allowing students to get firsthand experience at not only preforming theses diagnostics, but also interpreting them. Steele Veterinary Clinic, PC, ND Description of Elective Experience: Steele Veterinary Clinic is a five doctor mixed animal practice located in south central North Dakota (80% large animal and 20% small animal). Our large animal consist of cow-calf, feeders, backgrounders, small ruminant, equine and dairy cattle. We provide a full clinic experience for all of our veterinary student externs. They will get to experience both large and small animal cases in a clinic setting, doing herd work in the country, sale barn experience and after hours emergencies in both large and small animal cases.
