Experience daily routine of single doctor small animal primary care practice in north central Ohio. Small but engaged and supportive staff. Practice founded in 1998 by owner as mixed animal practice, currently limited to primarily dog and cat care. Offer small animal soft tissue surgery, vaccinations, wellness and diagnostic workups for primary care and referral cases. On site digital X-ray and laboratory services as well as reference lab send outs. Opportunity for qualified students to perform soft tissue surgery procedures as well as case workups and technical skills development. Local humane society and dog shelter populations can provide additional case experiences. Mixture of semi rural and suburban clientele within a traditionally agricultural area of north central Ohio.
Staff of one '93 OSU Alumn DVM. Two part time RVTs. Two experienced front office receptionists and two motivated and capable veterinary assistants. Sonmate dental prophylactic scaler/polisher, surgical BP/P02 monitor, electrosurgical unit, therapeutic laser, and isoflurane anesthesia /vaporizer unit.
Clinic hours of operation consist of MTWF 8:00 AM-5:30PM. Saturdays 9AM-1PM. Closed Thursdays and Sundays. After hours on call typically limited to established patients/ clientele. Students encouraged to play after role in patient assessment, diagnostic workups, plan of care development of medical and surgical patients with an emphasis on developing direct client communication skills and confidence.
