Description of Elective Experience

Standardbred stud work. Foaling mares. Observation of stallion collection and processing. Scanning mare, artifical insemination. Handling of mares and foals.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Three regular veterinarians attend daily.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Depending on experience we would like to studentsd to help in the breeding barn with mares and foals, this includes catching mares, feeding stock, treating etc.

Hours are generally 8 per day 5 days a week but will include some night foal watch duties

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info)

We will house the student and provide transport to our other properties.   Food requirements will be discussed
