Pine Hollow Veterinary Services is made up of Animal Hospital of Meadville, Albion Animal Center, and Western Reserve Animal Clinic. All practices are small animal-based with an occasional small ruminant office appointment. Western Reserve Animal Clinic is located in a rural setting near the Ohio and Pennsylvania border with many local activities to enjoy. All clinics have access to an interstate, yet the closeness of a peaceful drive down a country dirt road or Main Street America.

Veterinary externs will spend time experiencing client relations and small animal veterinary wellness and medicine. They will be involved with wellness visits, medicine cases, along with assisting in the surgery suite.

Staff on-site ranges from a receptionist, veterinary technicians, practice manager, and veterinarian. Typically 4:1 ratio.

Digital x-ray, Dental Unit, Ultrasound, Cold Therapy Laser, Tonovet, Doppler
Cloud-based IDEXX NEO for practice management on Apple and MAC computers
Doctors utilize VIN and referral radiograph imaging
HIll's Nutrition, Elanco vaccinations, heartworm, and flea/tick medications
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?
Student will assist with wellness and medicine cases of canine and feline patients
Student will perform physical examinations
Student will be responsible for adding consultation notes, and communicating patient needs and plans with clients
Student will be responsible to delegate staff during appointments and caseloads
Student will be able to assist in surgeries
Student will learn time management skills
Student will have access to associate veterinarians at all times

Our Albion Animal Center location has an apartment-style living quarters in the basement that includes a kitchen, bathroom/shower, laundry room, bed, closet, and couch areas. During office hours the staff will have accessibility to some of the areas.
