Our AAHA certified, 25+ doctor, small animal hospital offers both General Practice and Emergency services. Our Emergency team operates from 5pm-1am Monday-Friday and from 8am-1am on Weekends and holidays. Our associate doctors see scheduled appointments and walk-in Emergencies from 8am-5pm Monday-Saturday. Medical staff are here 24/7/365.
We can work around the applicant’s schedule and availability to make sure they get the most of their experience at West Park Animal Hospital and will be able to gain experience in general practice, emergency medicine, dentistry, surgery, orthopedic surgery and more.

We are a privately owned small animal practice in west side of Cleveland. Our staff consists of 180+ employees including 25+ DVMs and 40+ RVTs and there are never less than 2 DVMs here at any time during open business hours, with often 10-12 DVMs during the day. We offer the following services: Digital x-ray, dental cone beam CT and digital dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, surgeries including routine, orthopedic and emergency with Ligasure, a CO2 surgical laser and ventilator available in the surgery suites, rehabilitation unit with an underwater treadmill and cold laser, full Idexx in-house reference lab and full in-house pharmacy. We are a mostly paperless practice and are converting from Cornerstone to EzyVet as our operating system in February 2026, as well as Vello for client communications and SmartFlow for treatments and anesthetic monitoring. Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?
We can work around the applicant’s schedule and availability and would ask that the applicant spend at least 4 shifts and 32 hours with us per week.
Student will help perform physical examinations, devise differential lists, assist in selecting diagnostics, creating treatment plans and client communication. Student may assist in surgical or emergency procedures and in-patient care / technical skills under supervision (IVC or Urinary catheter placement, blood draws, etc.) We will cater to each student's special interests and skill set.
