At Waverly Veterinary Clinic, located in Waverly, Iowa, We are committed to a high standard of excellence and we are looking for someone with that same commitment. Our clientele is highly invested in their pet’s health and will follow through with our recommendations, allowing us to practice high-quality medicine.  

We are equipped with digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, surgical laser, full IDEXX in-house lab, and laptops installed in every exam room!

Located in Northeast Iowa, Waverly is less than 30 minutes from Cedar Falls and Waterloo.  Waverly is a family-friendly community with a bustling downtown.  For the outdoor enthusiast, Waverly is an excellent place to live.… Enjoy biking and walking trails, golfing, camping, kayaking on the river, and skiing.  There are activities for all ages……Enjoy the annual ark walk along the scenic Cedar River, music in the park, or car cruising in the summer!

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?
  • Maintain medical records
  • Hospitalized patient treatment
  • Assistant surgeon (spay/neuter, orthopedics, soft tissue, etc.)
  • Dentistry
  • Joining DVM on emergency calls
  • Obtaining medical histories
  • Formulating treatment plans
  • Performing physical exams (small animal)
  • Diagnostic interpretation
  • Anesthesia planning and monitoring 
  • Client communication 
Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info)

We will provide hotel stay near the practice
