Description of Elective Experience

We are a busy group of practices. We have small animal clinics in a suburb area. We also have a large animal practice that consist of swine and cattle ambulatory type. Students would have the oppurtunity to do preventive care, illness work ups and surgery. we see dogs, cats, goats, sheep and pet pigs in our small animal faucilities. We are paper light and use cornerstone computer system.  

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

We are staffed with a team of veterinarians, registered technicians, and well trained support staff. We have equipment that is kept current and in good working order: DR radiology, Idexx chem, cbc and sedivue (UA analyzer), ultrasound, endoscope, dental radiology, dental equipment (including high speed drill), and technology to interact with clients.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

We will work with students to give them experience in which ever form they perfer or are ready for as we learn what their needs are. We are open Monday thru Friday 7am to 5pm and Saturday 7am to Noon.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info)

We have doctors that are willing to house students in their homes during externships.
