Description of Elective Experience

Student will be working with Dr. David Kilian to treat a variety of animals. The average day might include herd checks on beef or dairy cows, emergency and preventative care on horses, and routine and orthopedic surgery in small animal. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Fully stocked ambulatory truck with access to small animal practice with full surgical suit and digital radiograph.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Student will be working 40+ hours at the clinic and be participating in on call shifts with Dr. Kilian over 6 days of the week. Student will be fully supervised and participate in clinical decision making and surgery.
