Description of Elective Experience

We are a growing 4 (almost 5) doctor practice in Allen Park, MI. Student will be responsible for obtaining histories, performing physical examinations and discussing exam findings and developing appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans and discussing client education with the owner. They will also be performing blood draws, vaccine administrations practicing restraint. They will also be assisting in routine and potentially emergency sterile surgeries (canine/feline OVH, OE, cystotomies, gastropexies, exploratory laparotomies, laceration repairs, etc) and assisting in routine dental cleanings and observing/assisting in extractions. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

4 doctor practice with both LVT's and VA's. Access to ultrasound, digital radiographs, dental radiographs, cryopen therapy, cold laser therapy, in house blood work, microscope for cytologies, fully stocked pharmacy. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Student with mirror the medical director's work schedule which rotates between 4 and 5 days a week. Student will be hands on in assisting with doctor responsibilities.
