Description of Elective Experience

Develop surgery skills including laser surgery and dentistry.  Workup routine appointments and sick patients.  Gain additional experience in large animal medicine and surgery.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Surgical laser, therapy laser, ultrasound, full in-house laboratory.  Registered veterinary technicians and vet assistants to assist in treatment and restraint.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Typical hours are 8-10 hours daily M-F.  Students will be permitted to perform procedures they are comfortable performing with supervision and assistance.
