Town & Country Veterinary Clinic, New Philadelphia, OH

Description of Elective Experience

Our 3+ doctor practice in rural Tuscarawas County is a busy companion animal practice. We serve a diverse client base. Veterinary externs will spend time performing physical exams, ordering/interpreting diagnostics, assisting in soft tissue surgery, oral surgery, charting medical records, developing treatment plans and discussing plans with owners.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

We have 3+ doctors and numerous highly trained technicians and assistants. We have digital x-rays, dental x-rays, in-house laboratory equipment, and ultrasound. We have a great support staff to assist students.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Students will shadow 4 days a week or more if desired. Their day would begin at 8am and end at 5:30pm. Saturdays are optional, and we are open 8-12:30 if the student would like additional experience.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info)

We provide a living stipend of $750 for 1 week or $1500 for 2 weeks. This will be mailed following completion of the first externship day.
