Tanasbourne Veterinary Emergency, OR

Description of Elective Experience

Students will work hands-on with multiple emergency, critical care, triage cases.  They will also scrub in to assist on various emergency surgeries/procedures.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

We have a high staff to dvm ratio to assist us with seeing as many patients as possible.  We have digital radiology, endoscopy, ultrasound, cold laser therapy, and a well stocked surgery suite.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Students will shadow a senior clinician during their shift.  Required hours are dependent upon the program that they are in.  We generally have 12 hours shifts for DVMs, however students can set the length of shift they would like to stay. We will have students come up with their own diagnosis and treatment plans.
