Description of Elective Experience

The student will assist Dr. Stephanie Gauta in the Maternity Barn with dystocias, palpations, c-sections, and overall herd health. The student will also have access our reproductive services that performs ET and IVF procedures. 

 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Two veterinarians, one veterinary technician on staff with specifically trained personnel on the farm.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

40-60 hours a week shadowing with a Veterinarian, Monday through Friday with weekends being optional.
