Description of Elective Experience

Full range of small animal and equine practice including but not limited to general examinations,  preventive care, sick patients, emergencies, radiology, surgeries (routine, soft tissue, and orthopedic), small animal rehabilitation, and advanced equine reproductive services. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Multiple Veterinarian Practice with ranges of experience 

Wonderful support staff with years of experience 

In-house laboratory, Digital radiology (in house and portable), Endoscopy, CO2 Laser, Therapeutic Laser, Underwater Treadmill, Multiple Ultrasounds, Embryo transfer and ICSI equipment  

 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Students will work 5 days a week Monday through Friday, 8 am to 6 pm. They will have the opportunity to assist with after hours equine calls if interested. Students will be expected to answer clinical questions, physical examinations, assist with diagnostic and treatment plans, administer treatment to patients, discuss cases and client communications.  

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info)

Housing can be provided if necessary.
