Description of Elective Experience

Student will ride with each doctor and experience the logistics and work lifestyle of a large animal veterinarian. They will assist the doctors in exams, diagnostics, and treatments, converse on cases and differentials, and when there is down time help the assistants with tasks around the office.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

we have 4 doctors, 5 support staff members. We are all ambulatory medicine so no haul in clinic. We offer digital radiography, oroscopy, reproductive and musculoskeletal ultrasound, as well as have an in house diagnostics lab.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

40 hours per week 5 days a week. Both shadowing and when appropriate, hands on experience with real cases
