Externs are assigned to a clinician on a rotating basis every day, and are expected to participate in hospital treatments, clinic appointments, mobile appointments, night checks, and emergencies. All of the Reata clinicians will quiz the students, and guide them through basic hands on skills.
Reata has four clinicians, four office staff, and six technicians. DXR, ultrasound, digital endoscope, in house lab, etc are used daily.

There is a clinician and a technician on call 24 hrs/day, and a surgical team on standby. Students are expected to be hands-on (at the clinicians' discretion).
