Our mission is to provide veterinary students with knowledge, perspective and technical training to make them successful in their profession. PAC houses a wide variety of industry experts in multiple facets of production animal medicine. These areas may include, but are not limited to:
Production Animal Consultation (PAC) is a group of science-driven, people-focused group of experts focusing on improving lives through veterinary medicine. In addition to providing veterinary health services, PAC conducts cattle research and data analysis, hosts educational opportunities on animal stewardship and facility design, and provides bilingual consultation for livestock producers. There are currently 10 consulting veterinarians with PAC who service clients in Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, and Iowa. Additionally, PAC employs research veterinarians, data analysts, and other client support positions.
Students posses a basic understanding of large animal medicine and should be prepared to travel throughout the Midwest, specifically Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado. Students should expect to be on-site from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, but due to the nature of our practice, days may be longer. Students are encourage to participate in daily activities to their fullest potential under the supervision of various veterinarians. It is important students have an open mind and willingness to learn, while being comfortable communicating one-on-one and in group discussions on topics related to large animal medicine and feedlot practice.
Students will be hosted by PAC consultants. Coordination of accommodations will occur through PAC consultants, administration, and students.
