Description of Elective Experience

We are 95% equine, 5% (growing) small animal, pot-bellied pigs, goats, etc. Our practice philosophy is to provide compassionate care, unrivaled service and cutting edge veterinary medicine to our patients and client. We promote a "team effort" environment though out all aspects of the practice and value a good work life balance. Our clientele is comprised mostly of english sport horses including dressage, jumper, hunters, and saddlebreds. We also serve western performance horses and trail-riders. We provide routine care, dentistry, sports medicine services, opthalmology, and reproductive services. We offer stem cell therapy, PRP, Prostride, IRAP, embryo transfer, ultrasound-guided injections, chiropractic, etc. We have 3 fully equipped state-of-the-art ambulatory vehicles. We have digital medical records, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy 1M and 3M, shockwave, K-laser and power floats. A technician accompanies veterinarians on appointments.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Typical hours are 8am - 5pm but can vary based on case load or emergencies. Student will be shadowing. Participation will be on a case by case basis taking into mind the student's skills.
