Description of Elective Experience

We are a mixed animal practice, primarily beef, in rural South Dakota.  We  have four clinics and serve 10 counties in central South Dakota.  We perform a high number of calving calls in the spring time providing a rounded and deep experience for veterinary students.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

The student will be expected to assist with normal scheduled appointments between the hours of 8-5:30 M-F and 8-12 on Saturday.  They will be expected to attend and assist all after hour emergencies even in the middle of the night.  

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info)

Student housing will be provided free to the student in either the appartment at a clinic or in the home of one of the doctors.  Private room, full kitchen, and shared bathroom facilities.  Not pet friendly due to liability issues.  Please contact Katie Hunsucker, DVM if needed.
