We are a fast -paced multi-doctor AAHA accredited practice in Buckeye Lake, Ohio located about 30 minutes from Columbus, Ohio. Our facility has 6 exam rooms, a specialty surgical suite and dental suite, oxygen cages, separate dogs and cat wards, and an isolation ward. We encourage a team approach with a supportive mentoring environment. We offer full service care for dogs and cats and offer wellness and sick care as well as same day urgent care/emergency appointments. Students will have the opportunity to be exposed to and work up a variety of cases and be able to obtain a considerable amount of emergency/ critical care experience. We perform surgeries 3 days a week and also perform emergency surgeries after hours and encourage students to assist with these procedures.. Level of mentoring and support tailored to student needs.
4 DVMs; about 20 support staff (RVT's, VT', and Assistants) ; digital radiographs and dental radiographs, Ultrasound, Idexx blood machines, VETSCAN Imagyst, inVue Dx Cellular Analyzer, Endoscopy and Laparoscopy
Student schedule is flexible. Expected to work ~36- 40 hours / 5 days / week - we are open Monday- Friday 7:30 am - 8 pm and On Call until 10:00 pm; Saturday 9:00 am-5:00 pm and On Call until 10:00 pm; Sunday open for emergencies only. We do NOT expect you to be here all the hours we are open! This opportunity is for the student and can be tailored to meet your specific interests. Case load, surgeries and autonomy based on comfort level, ability, and comfort of the supervising veterinarian.
