Description of Elective Experience

Small animal primary care facility for dogs, cats, mammalian exotics, and non-mammalian exotics such as reptiles, amphibians, and birds.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Facility is two locations staffed with three veterinarians along with multiple technicians and assistants. Diagnositc imaging and laboratory services onsite.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Student will work ~40 hours a week, primarily with head veterinarian, but also with other veterinarians on staff. Hours will be M, T, W, F 8:30-6, and S 8:30-1 pm. Student will start shadowing, but move into a more active role during the experience. Student will also get hands on experience with husbandry of fish tank and clinic birds.
