Attention:
The Colorado Workers' Compensation Act requires student interns to be covered by workers' compensation insurance. Ohio State is not able to add students to its institutional workers' compensation policy. Prior to scheduling an externship in Colorado, students must work with their externship supervisor to ensure that Colorado worker's compensation insurance requirements will be met. Proof of worker's compensation coverage must be sent to Dr. Emma Read for verification. If a student is not covered by a worker's compensation policy for their externship they will not earn academic credit for the rotation. The veterinary strident will shadow doctors in rooms and during surgeries. When the opportunity rises and the student is comfortable, the student will be asked to assist and/or perform minor procedures and dental procedures with supervision.
CO2 laser, therapy laser, ligasure, digital xray, digital dental xray, ortho surgeries, soft tissue surgeries, dental procedures, PRP use, ultrasound, Imagyst for cytologies.
3 RVTs, 3 TAs, 3 DVMs willing to mentor, discuss cases, look over diagnostics.
Full days. 8 hr/day with hour lunch. Negotiable case by case. 5 days a week. Saturdays optional.
