Description of Elective Experience

Hands on radiology and US image interpretation. We have 2 dedicated US machines for hands on ultrasound learning in both abdomen and echocardiography. Rounds include imaging and ECG rounds (Led by an ACVECC specialist). sTudents reach a level of intermediate abbdomen and intermediate echocardiography. intermediate echocardiography includes the left sided views, Doppler sonography and m-mode.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

5/days a week

rounds begin at 9AM with poweer point presentations or teaching cases

there is then a second set of rounds covering the US topic of the day

after luch the students begin hands on training in US for 2-3 hours

The students are expected to attend clinics in Portland at a specialty practice on saturdays to see US cases. They are compensated for this work day with a week day off of their choosing
