Description of Elective Experience

Exposure to a busy practice with food animal, exotics, small animal, and shelter medicine care.  Utilizing laser surgery, cold therapy laser, digital radiographs, ultrasound, etc. and laboratory diagnostics to care for our patients in a small town and farming area.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

3 Veterinary practice with 2 veterinary technicians and a support staff

1 hour away from OSU

Laser Surgery, Digital Radiology, Ultrasound, Blood and Chemistry analysers, Cold Therapy Laser, Tonovet, Dental Radiology, Portable Cattle chute and mobile Veterinary Truck

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

51/2 days a week , 8-10 hour days, actual support and supervised practice including surgeries, palpation, and diagnostic challenges

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info)

May commute or stay at attached apartment to my home at no cost
