Description of Elective Experience

Students will shadow DVM in the exam room and surgery.  Students will perform physical exams, and technical skills such as IV catheter placement, intubation, dental prophylaxis, etc.   Cases will be discussed with clinical superviser.  Soft skills will be coached.   Students will perform spay / neuter surgeries as case load permits.

Staffing:  Accredited DVMs and RVTs

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Hours:   approximately 40 hours / week.   

M-F 9 am - 6 pm

Saturdays is agreed upon by student
