Old Dominion Equine Associates, VA

Description of Elective Experience

We encourage you to check out our practice and hopefully set up a visit. You will find our Externship is a high quality, hands-on experience where you will be included in a warm, supportive environment.  Externships are not only a means of recruiting future interns, but are also a great opportunity to build a relationship with the next generation of horse loving veterinarians.

Our practice philosophy centers on creating a supportive, positive work environment with specific attention to work / life balance.  We promote teamwork and encourage our veterinarians to pursue their specific areas of interest in equine medicine.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

We provide veterinary students with exposure to high quality sport horse practice. We aim to provide a hands-on experience that cannot be achieved in the classroom.

Students have an opportunity to ride along with each veterinarian in the practice. We do not accept more than one student at a time so we can provide a meaningful experience.
