Description of Elective Experience

The hospital is a elective and referral surgical hospital which will provide the student with hands on learning in surgery,  The student will work one on one with board certified surgeons and ambulatory clinicians - performing field treatment under direct supervision and Veterinarian mentorship.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Direct supervision ambulatory clinicians, three boarded surgeons, a boarded internist (onsite consultant), and a boarded radiologist (onsite consultant)diagnostic imaging and have modalities such as positron emission tomography, standing and general anesthesia computed tomography, high-field MRI, and nuclear scintigraphy.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Monday - Friday, 7:30 until finished, approximately 4:00 pm, welcome to join for after hour emergencies.  Student will perform duties   directly with and under the supervision of staff,  technicians and veterinarians.

Housing is available on a first come basis. No cost, no pets allowed.
