Description of Elective Experience

North Side Animal Clinic is a three doctor, mixed animal general practice. During the internship, the student will gain experience performing exams on well and sick patients, collecting lab samples, running diagnostic tests, and taking radiographs. They will also observe and participate in a variety of surgical procedures both in the clinic and at client farms. They will interact with clients from different backgrounds and with varying financial abilities.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Hours will be approximately 8:30am-6:00pm Monday - Thursday and 8:30am- 5:00pm on Friday. The student will be expected to arrive on time with suitable clothes for in clinic appointments, surgery, and/or farm calls. They will be primarily shadowing but also provide support according to the student and supervising Doctor's comfort level.
