North Main Animal Clinic, Dayton, OH

Description of Elective Experience

Here at the North Main Animal Clinic, we are committed to high-quality patient care for companion animals. We are located in Dayton, Ohio and proudly serve a diverse community of clients. Externs should expect to gain hands-on experience tailored to their needs. Previous offerings include a comprehensive dentistry elective that was in conjunction with Midmark and OSU. We've also worked with second and third year students and those experiences were based on the individual extern. Requests fulfilled were working daily appointments, developing a physical exam routine, working cases, reading and understanding diagnostics and practicing surgical skills.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Students will accompany our managing DVM Dr. Nicole Tebbe along with our friendly, energetic staff composed of Registered Veterinary Technicians and trained Veterinary Assistants. We also take pride that one of our RVTs is a Clinical Evaluator for Sinclair College. Dr Tebbe has often said that if she wasn’t a veterinarian, she would love to teach. You can expect a supportive, collaborative environment that lends itself to mentorship. While the business itself started in 1969, our current facility was built in 2019 and boasts on-site digital radiography including dental, ultrasound, laser therapy, IDEXX in house lab equipment and more.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?
