Description of Elective Experience

The student extern will be expected to observe and assist with all aspects of  equine practice, both ambulatory and hospital. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

 Four full-time veterinarians, three full-time assistants. Four fully equipped ambulatory vehicles. Hospital facility with two exam rooms, three stalls and a round pen for lameness examinations.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Student extern will be expected to be in attendance Monday through Friday with occasional weekend hours.  Office hours are 8 AM to 5 PM,however days are often extended.
