Murray Ridge Animal Clinic, OH

Description of Elective Experience

Work with an experienced veterinarian in a woman-owned, small animal private practice setting. This internship will provide hands on experience with a wide array of client interactions from diagnostics to preventative medicine. Gain experience with state-of-the-art radiography for full skeleton and dental imaging, laser surgical tools and learn how to provide laser therapy. Gain an understanding of the balancing act required to balance business needs with practice needs, and the charm of small business veterinary medicine. Finally, learn how to be your own boss, what it takes to run a successful vet clinic, the 'behind the scenes' skills required to succeed, and the endless opportunities that exist in small animal veterinary medicine.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

We have ~15 friendly employees with two staff doctors and numerous relief vets. Our staff doctors have extensive experience in laser surgery, diagnostics and holistic medicine. As of 2022, we have a new full skeleton radiograph, and dental radiograph. We provide laser therapy to small animals with pain, or animals in the process of healing from surgery.
