Description of Elective Experience

This experience entails assisting in rooms including obtaining patient history/vitals, reading cytologies, working alongside DVM's for patient plan and discharging of patients. Observing surgical procedures alongside DVM's and attaining experience with any questions regarding procedures, as well as protocols

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

An animal general practice hospital containing 5 exam rooms, versa 2 anesthesia machines, dental suite with dental radiology machine, radiology room with radiology machine, isolation ward, hospitalization ward, cat ward, Monitoring equipment such as Blood pressure, ECG, cardiopet, surgery room, staff of 6 VA's and 3 DVM's. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Work Monday-Friday 8-5pm or 8-6pm alongside Dr. Chris Banks in surgery, as well as rooms. This entails both roles as far as shadowing and support whether in surgery or rooms.
