Description of Elective Experience

We are a mixed animal practice that sees dogs, cats, exotics and some large animal patients. We provide a wide range of services ranging from routine wellness care to surgeries including orthopedic and soft tissue procedures. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Clinic resources include digital radiography, Idexx bloodwork and urinalysis machines (ProCyte, Catalyst, SnapPro, Sedivue, UA Analyzer) multiple anesthesia units with sevo and isoflurane, monitoring equipment including SPO2, EtCO2, and BP, therapeutic laser, internet with access to VIN and other veterinary resources. Staff incudes 2 DVMs, RVT and approximately 20 other support staff. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Although students are welcome to shadow only, they are encouraged to participate in the treatment and care of patients as well client communication and education to the extent of their abilities. Clinic is open from 7am to 6 pm Monday - Friday and 7 am to 1 pm Saturdays. Students hours can be flexible within those times.
