Description of Elective Experience

Well established small animal practice with a great relationship with the community. We are an AAHA accredited practice and we also have a new facility as of 7/14/2024. 

We have four veterinarians who practice up to date medicine and surgery. We offer a wide variety of surgeries including orthopedics. We perform advanced abdominal ultrasound imaging and echocardiography. 

Students can gain experience with all aspects of veterinary medicine in general practice. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Staffing: 

4 DVMs with an additional operating in surgery on Wednesdays

5 RVTs with 2 more employees in school

We have a C02 laser, two ultrasounds, teaching microscope, digital radiography, therapeutic laser, Imagyst, two surgical suites, dental suite. We also offer PRP. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Hours: 

Students would be expected to work 8:30 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday. 

Depending on the comfort level of the student - expectations can range from shadowing to actual support
