We are an 8 doctor, small animal, veterinary hospital. We offer care for dogs and cats Monday-Saturday. Four of our doctors offer reproduction services. These services include breeding exams, progesterone testing, semen collection, semen evaluations, AI's, TCI's, shipping semen, and more. The veterinary student will have the opportunity to experience reproduction as well as general medicine and surgery.
The Josey Ranch staff is made up of 8 doctors, 17 technicians, 7 CSR's, 1 kennel assistant, a groomer and the hospital manager. We use Idexx analyzers for our in-house labs. We use Cornerstone and have an AI system called Vetsoap for recording exams. We have digital x-ray, ultrasound, cold laser therapy, and a laparoscopic surgery unit.
We perform surgeries such as neuters, OHE's, C-sections, dental's, mass removals, etc. We are have been an AAHA hospital for over 10 years. We host vet students every year as well as local high school students who are in a vet-tech program. We have always considered ourselves a teaching hospital.
The students will:
-Shadow all the doctors in exams and surgery
-Perform exams and generate a record
-Assist in surgeries
-Assist with dentals
-Shadow repro doctors
-Be involved in cases going on in the hospital
