Description of Elective Experience

Our veterinarians provide a number of services in an ambulatory setting.  Services include wellness care, such as physical exams, pre-purchase exams, performance evaluations, lameness exams and vaccinations.  Acupuncture and chiropractic services are also provided.  Advanced diagnostic imaging, such as ultrasonography, digital radiography, and endoscopy are available, as well as shock wave, regenerative laser and FES therapies. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Student will have the opportunity to shadow Dr. Ober and Dr. Wayner up to 6 or 7 days a week, 7am to 7pm. Caseload consists of equine emergency, sports medicine, prepurchase, and advanced diagnostics such as ultrasound and radiography. Will have the opportunity to assist with flexions and patient workups as well as preparation of treatments with orthobiologics.
