Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Calfterns will actively take part in herd consultations, research trial design or assistance, research animal caretaking, research animal processing, emergency calls, vaccination protocol creation, diagnostics, progressive evaluation consultations, and necropsy. Minimum hours will be at least 40 per week on Monday thru Friday.  They will be encouraged to spend time on the weekends at the research farm assisting in sample collection and observation.  The Calftern will also be expected to develop a presentation on a special case or topic from their time on the Calfternship that they will then present to the group at their last Thursday here during the morning vet meeting.  They may also be asked to partake in our podcast or other social media posts during their time in the Calfternship.
