Description of Elective Experience

Soft tissue surgery development, dentistry, client education, preventive medicine, communication development 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Two doctor practice, digital xray, in house bloodwork and urinalysis lab, dental xray, orthopedic equipment, ultrasound, surgery suite, 5 exam rooms, sister hospital. 3 staff per doctor. Entire staff fear free trained and certified.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Daily 8 to 6 pm. Work up cases (interpret bloodwork, xray and ultrasound) and perform client education on preventative care, perform routine soft tissue procedures (spays, neuters, mass removals). Assist in emergency surgeries and orthopedic procedures.
