Glenway Animal Hospital in Cincinnati offers veterinary externs a welcoming, supportive environment to build clinical skills and confidence. Externs gain experience in dentistry, surgery, and outpatient care for dogs and cats, as well as rabbits and pocket pets. Our team emphasizes mentorship, helping students sharpen their clinical judgment, polish client communication skills, and participate effectively as members of the veterinary team.
Our dedicated team includes 33 staff members, with four veterinarians and nine registered veterinary technicians who bring a wealth of experience and a collaborative approach to patient care. Our hospital offers digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory testing, giving externs valuable exposure to diagnostic tools used in everyday practice.
We work with each student to tailor their externship to their interests, experience level, and professional goals. Schedules, including days and hours, are arranged collaboratively. Students participate in shadowing and supervised clinical activities appropriate to their training, with an emphasis on active learning, client communication, and teamwork.
