Students will be immersed in the daily functioning of a specialised veterinary ophthalmology practice, gaining exposure to advanced diagnostic procedures, surgical case workflows, clinical decision-making, and multidisciplinary coordination across patient care. The experience provides insight into medical protocols, clinical documentation, client communication, and ophthalmic case management in a high-volume environment. Learning is observational and educational in nature, with opportunities to engage in daily case rounds, once-a-week literature review, clinical discussions, case reviews, and academic learning sessions with the medical team.
The Eye Vet Clinics is a specialised veterinary ophthalmology clinics operating across multiple locations in India and Dubai, providing multispecies diagnostic and surgical care.
Clinical services are led by board-certified ophthalmic surgeons (Diplomates of the International Board of Veterinary Ophthalmology – DIBVO), supported by veterinarians in anaesthesia services, trained veterinary technicians, and clinic support staff. Facilities include examination suites equipped for slit-lamp biomicroscopy, indirect ophthalmoscopy, tonometry, ocular ultrasound, ERG and Fundus imaging. Surgical capabilities include adnexal, corneal surgery, phacoemulsification, glaucoma surgery etc. supported by dedicated anaesthesia monitoring and post-operative care areas.
Students have observational access to consultations, procedures, clinical discussions, and internal case-review forums.
Students are expected to observe daily clinical operations across consultations, diagnostic procedures, surgeries, and case discussions as scheduled by the clinical team. Participation is strictly observational and educational in nature. Students may attend clinical rounds, learning sessions, and internal discussions as permitted by supervising clinicians. Attendance is expected during designated working hours on assigned days, which may vary based on clinical schedules and case load. Students are responsible for maintaining professional conduct, confidentiality, adherence to clinic policies, and compliance with safety and hygiene protocols. No hands-on procedures, treatments, diagnostics, or surgical assistance will be permitted.
This elective is strictly observational for safety and specialty-specific reasons.
