Description of Elective Experience

This is a high level sports medicine and rehabilitation referral clinic for mainly upper level dressage horses. Practice owner is international level dressage rider, judge and trainer form the Netherlands. Focus on axial skeleton with radiology and ultrasound imaging as well as EMG. Co-owber and spouse is ACVS boarded surgeon with professional employment at UoM in research

clinic building fully equipped with in hospital imaging equipment

Upper level dressage horses owned by practice owner. Daily training at the olympic level.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Shadowing all case laod. Assisting in imaging.

Making (mock) reports/discharges

Observing daily dressage training at olympic level

grooming upper level dressage horses
