Eastside Animal Center, NE

Description of Elective Experience

At Eastside Animal Center, students have access to the inside track of a true rural, mixed animal clinic. During the student's time they could experience anything from calving calls, down cows, bull soundness exams, ultrasound and pregnancy checking to routine small animal appointments, cruciate, pyometra, orthopedic and more. We are a full service veterinary clinic and strive to give our veterinary students as much hands on experience as possible.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Our clinic is fully staffed with veterinary technicians, assistants, receptionist and veterinarians. We utilize up to date equipment such as digital radiology, ultrasound, in -house blood machines, dental equipment, portable hydraulic chutes, power float as well as a full line of vaccines and pharmacy.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Student will be expected to help with chores morning and evenings, they are to be available for after hours calls as well as available for any appointment that walks through our doors. We are a hands on clinic and want the student to gain as much experience as possible while here. We value giving the students as much of a real-world experience as possible.
