Eastgate Animal Hospital, OH

Description of Elective Experience

Busy small animal suburban practice with exposure to general practice medicine including but not limited to wellness visits, vaccine protocols, general surgery, sick visits, and everything in between. We also offer advanced orthopedic surgical intervention (TPLO, tibial crest transposition) and soft tissue surgeries like perineal urethrostomies and anal sacculectomy. We have the resources to provide some shelter medicine as well if desired.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

We have three full time DVMs, four registered technicians, and are part of the PetVet Network of hospitals. In-house bloodwork, digital radiology (including dental radiology), ultrasound, and endoscopy are just a few of the tools we utilize in our office.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

We typically work forty hours per week (either five weekdays or four weekdays and a Saturday shift), and would be available to the student at all times.
