Description of Elective Experience

Student will be able to observe and work along side clinicians in emergency, surgery, radiology, ophthalmology and rehabilitation.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Digital radiology, CT, Ultrasound, arthroscopic procedures. Staff include DACVS, DACVR, DACVO, CCRP and RVT’s

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Student will work side by side with a clinician. The hours and the days of the week will vary based on the interest of the student. We are open 24 hours 7 days per week. The bulk of specialty service will occur during normal business hours. The emergency is most busy on weekends. Students should plan for 10-12 hour days, 3 weekdays and 1 weekend day/evening.
