Description of Elective Experience

Opportunity to engage in hands on experience at an ambulatory practice.  We have a fully stocked Pharmacy, in house laboratory equipment (CBC, Chemistry, Fibrinogen, SAA as well as in field diagnostics such as endoscopy, gastroscopy, ultrasonography, and digital radiography.  We see a variety of cases from lameness exams, wellness, dentistry and ER cases. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

We have 3 full time veterinarians, 3 full time technicians, a practice manager and 3 receptionists.  Our veterinarians will offer the extern hands on experience with the equipment listed above. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Student is expected to attend Monday-Friday (weekend ERs optional). With ambulatory practice it will be a minimum or 40 hours weekly.  This will be a hands on acutal support externship.
