Description of Elective Experience

We are a three doctor small animal only (dogs,cats) clinic situated in Oberlin, Ohio.  We offer general practice medicine with the option of nearby referral centers if needed.  Our veterinarians perform soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures, and advanced dentistry.  We off radiology-general and dental, ultrasound, and laser therapy.  Our doctors have special interests in internal medicine, cardiology,  behavior-fear free certified, and dentistry.  We offer boarding, grooming, and training.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

We have three veterinarians, each with over twenty years of experience. We have a relief doctor who comes into perform orthopedic procedures.  Our practice has six licensed technicians.  We have general and dental radiology,  an ultrasound,  laser therapy, and access to a veterinary chiropractor.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

The student will be expected to work 40 hours per week.  Monday-Friday our hours are 8-6 and Sat 8-12.  We plan to offer the opportunity to both shadow, perform tasks, offer patient care, and be involved in the diagnostic and surgical process.
