Description of Elective Experience

Working with and shadowing doctors during exam, appointments, laboratory, and surgery. Learning skills essential to performing the duties of a small animal clinician. working closely with support staff to gain insights from their experiences. Interacting with clients to gain more client-facing experience, including obtaining histries. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Full-service small animal hospital with ability to hospitalize, perform routine surgeries, perform routine dentistry, in-house laboratory and digtal radiography and dental radiology. Three to severn licesed veterinarians on staff. Licensed veterinary technicians employed. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Studnet is expected to be present for 33 - 40 hours per week. This may be spread over 3-5 days per the student's request. All hours will be with licensed veterinarians.
