Description of Elective Experience

Busy cardiology only small animal private practice. Student will be welcomed to do physical examinations, observe echocardiograms and other diagnostic testing, interpret radiographs and ECGs. Will also have the opportunity to participate in weekly rounds with the cardiologists and residents.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Single doctor practice with weekly rounds with all of the other CVCA doctors and residents. Three to four nurses present daily as support staff. Situated within an ER practice that has oxygen, fluid and syringe pumps, telemetry and radiology. Dedicated Philips CVx ultrasound machine and Beecardiac ECG.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Student is expected to be present during receiving hours (9 - 5) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Shadowing the doctor.
