Description of Elective Experience

Students will participate in daily rounds, observe and assist in outpatient exams and surgery. We care for dogs, cats, and exotics. We do ultrasounds, echos, dental work, laparoscopy, laser surgery some orthopedics. We have a CCRP on staff. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

We have ultrasound capablility, laser surgery, a laparscope, digital full and dental radiography, water treadmill, physical therapy service by a CCRP therapist. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Students are expected to follow a schedule that includes approx 8 hours per day, and more if the student desires. At least one day will include an evening shift such as 1-9pm or a Saturday 8-4pm) 

Students participate in rounds, shadow in outpatient exams and assist in surgery.
